The 56th Regional Juried Show / William Butcher Solo Exhibition

The 56th Regional Juried Show is an all media, juried show open to all artists. Highlights from Regional shows include works of watercolor, pastels and photography.
William Butcher’s Solo Exhibition represents a cohesive series of paintings that explore the mysterious and illusive spiritual nature of human life. Butcher’s perception of form through drawing, design and color will also explore the paradoxical nature of the visual world both real and imagined.
Shows run August 2 – September 22.
Photo Show 34 / Art of the Boat: Mystic Seaport Rosenfeld Collection
Opening Reception – Thursday, October 4th from 5:30pm-7pm
MMoA’s annual photography show, Photo Show 34, features original photography from local and regional artists. The show will be juried by Lindsay Elgin, teacher and advisor for Rhode Island School of Design’s Continuing Education Digital Photography Certificate Program.
“Art of the Boat”: Mystic Seaport Rosenfeld Collection features images spanning one hundred years of yachting from 1881 to 1992. The collection is the largest display of maritime photography in the world. Brought to life with a classic printmaking technique using contemporary digital pigment and platinum palladium print processes, these images possess a luminosity and detail that evoke the quality of paintings.
Selections from the permanent collection will also be on display.
