Family Open Studios

Spend some creative time with your family. We provide the space and basic materials. No reservations necessary. No open studios on 2/15.

Mondays, 1pm – 4pm 
$3 fee per person; Free for members with their own supplies.

Winter/Spring Homeschool Programs

MMoA provides homeschool educational experiences through a combination of discussion and hands-on work in our galleries and studios. All programs focus on the elements of art and design, teach art vocabulary, and utilize critical thinking skills. Appropriate for children ages 6 – 10.

Clay Sculpture

Mary Addison
Children learn about the sculptural properties of clay as well as solid construction techniques to create original hand-built pottery. Work in the Young at Art exhibition of children ages 0 to 18 serves as inspiration.

Earth-Day Art
Hilary Opperman
Children discuss sustainability as it is related to art and then create upcycled sculptures using colorful and everyday objects: an empty soda bottle becomes a fish, lion, bird, or another creature from the animal kingdom.
April 12*, 1pm – 3 pm

Nature and Art
Mary Addison
Students do a warm-up activity on MMoA’s grounds doing a close observation of nature. In the studio, they create mixed media pieces inspired by natural forms and materials.
