Bus Trip to Cos Cob and The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
Co-presented with the Lyman Allyn Art Museum
Visit the “cradle of American Impressionism” in Connecticut with guided art tours of the Bush Holley Historic Site in Greenwich, then experience art from the 21st century, at the only museum in Connecticut devoted to contemporary art at The Aldrich in Ridgefield.
The Bush-Holley House is the centerpiece of Bush-Holley Historic Site in Greenwich, Connecticut. Eight rooms tell a story of change over time, including the New Nation (1790-1825) and the Cos Cob Art Colony (1890-1920). At The Aldrich we will explore “Extreme Drawing”, an exhibition focused on those whose practice has taken the pursuit of drawing to extremes, addressing issues of scale, material, content, gesture, emotion, and individual circumstance.
Travelers can enjoy the remaining exhibitions and museum shop on their own for the last hour of the day. The bus departs promptly at 4:30pm. Plan about $25 additional for lunch.
Advanced reservations are required. To reserve your space, contact Dawn Salerno at 860-536-7601 x209. Registration deadline: March 29.
Bus departs from and returns to the parking lot of Lyman Allyn Art Museum, 625 Williams Street, New London.
