Bus Trip to the Museum of Russian Icons and Fruitlands Museum
Join fellow art trekkers from Mystic Museum of Art and Lyman Allyn Art Museum to explore two hidden treasures in Western Massachusetts during peak fall foliage week: the Museum of Russian Icons and Fruitlands Museum.
We’ll take a docent-led tour of the Museum of Russian Icons which houses the largest collection of Russian icons and artifacts in North America. Spanning six centuries, the collection includes important historical paintings dating from the earliest periods of icon “writing” to the present.
We’ll spend the afternoon at the Fruitlands Museum where you can enjoy lunch on your own in the café, then explore the museum’s collection of Native American art, 19th Century American portraiture and Hudson River School landscapes. Fruitlands is an outdoor museum: dress appropriately. Before returning home, enjoy a stop at nearby Bolton Orchards.
Advanced reservations are required. To reserve your space, contact Dawn Salerno by October 9.
Bus departs from and returns to the parking lot of Lyman Allyn Art Museum and departs promptly at 4:30 pm.
