This summer, MMoA is launching the Collectors Roundtable to provide training and education to new and established art collectors about the process of assembling and caring for a collection. The monthly gatherings on the first Tuesday of the month will include presentations by artists, scholars, appraisers, auctioneers, conservators, and fellow collectors on topics such as how to start collecting, navigating galleries and auction houses, documenting and caring for your collection, estate planning and other legal issues, and more. There will be field trips to view local private collections and artist studios. It’s a great chance to form a community with other art lovers, whether you are a collector or just want to learn more.
The first Collectors Roundtable on August 2nd at 5:30 pm will feature a conversation with several local collectors who will share why they started collecting and how they have grown and care for their artwork. Because their focuses are both local and national, you will hear about the various ways collections are built. The talk will be followed by a short reception with wine provided by Saltwater Farms Vineyard.
There is no admission charge, but space will be limited. To reserve a spot, contact Pamela Feltus at 860.536.7601 extension 209 or Pamela@MysticMuseumofArt.org
