A fellow small sister-institution founded by Connecticut artists in the early Twentieth Century, Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) and MMoA have partnered together over the past decade to host CAFA’s annual exhibition. In response to these unprecedented times, and for the safety of all those involved, CAFA is bringing their 109th Annual Exhibition online!
CAFA is adapting their Online Submission policies for the entire 2020 exhibition. Submissions will be juried and prizes will be awarded as usual, and the virtual exhibition will be hosted on the CAFA website (www.ctacademy.org).

DATES AND DEADLINES

EXHIBITION DATES: July 18 – September 5, 2020
SUBMISSION PERIOD: April 18 – June 18, 2020
Results will be posted on the CAFA website on July 4, 2020. Please do not call either CAFA or MMoA for results.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

CAFA’s 109th Annual Exhibition is open to all artists working in all media. Through the magic of the internet, dimensions/weight of entries are unrestricted this year (within reason).
The full exhibition prospectus, including entry fees, the list of awards, sales policies, and more can be found on the 109th Annual Exhibition website.

ARTISTS, PLEASE NOTE:

CAFA has a new Facebook page! Please follow their new account to receive updates about the Academy, and about the 109th Annual Exhibition.

Founded in 1910, CAFA was established by a group of renowned Connecticut artists with the  goal of promoting the art of area members through an annual salon show, a juried exhibition with high standards of artistic excellence. Artists could gain membership in the organization by proving themselves through the jury process.
Today the Academy remains an active non-profit organization supported by the membership. All of the leadership positions and exhibition activities are performed by volunteers dedicated to the preservation of the Academy and the values it represents. In keeping with this long standing tradition, CAFA holds yearly exhibitions that are open to members and non-members alike. All artists are encouraged to enter their work.
