The Contemporary Scene
Mystic Museum of Art is pleased to present the works of three artists who each depict scenes of contemporary life: Roger Beers, Sarah Stifler Lucas, and Rachel Petruccillo.
These artists each present scenes of contemporary life in very different ways—Roger Beers distills scenes to almost abstracted geometrical forms as figures move through crowds and subways. Sarah Stifler Lucas creates masterpieces out of everyday café and restaurant scenes. Rachel Petruccillo uses stark realism in watercolor to depict tourists and locals as they weave through urban life.
Although the personal style of each artist differ, each present the viewer with authentic contemporary scenes.
Opening reception: Thursday, May 10, 5;30 – 7pm
