Eva Leong has lived in Mystic for over two decades and taught classes and workshops at MMoA since 2002.
Born and raised in Shanghai, China, she focused on Chinese philosophy and Chinese watercolor in her early years. In 1982 she moved to New York City to study at The Art Students League and Parsons School of Design. Through more than five decades of dedication to art and creativity, Eva has brought the East and West together in her art work. In her paintings, one can feel the energy of the chi and expressive colors of the west (visit evaleongart.com to see her work).
This fall, Eva is bringing Chinese Brushwork to MMoA, to share her culture and the techniques used in Chinese watercolor. There will be five Monday morning 2-hour sessions in October. Through demonstrations and guided instructions in the class, students will be taught to remain alert and present, feeling the chi energy in their body and expressing it in their artwork.
